Maritime mobile telecommunications service is a 2-way communication service that allows officers and crew members working on ships to directly communicate with their Companies, ship owners, families, and relatives on land and vice versa via Switchboard of Vietnam Coast Radio Station System.
1. Advantages of the service
- The service covers the entire Vietnamese sea area where land-based telecommunications networks cannot reach.
- Customers who sign a service registration contract at any Coast Radio Station can use the services of any station.
- Low charges.
- Simple to register to use the service.
- Charge payment can be prepaid or postpaid.

For foreign individuals using services via Coast Radio Station, the charge is 01 USD/minute (equivalent to 24,000 VND/minute). Notes:
- Charging method: 2 minutes + 1, the fraction of the last communication minute is rounded to 1 minute.
- Service charge includes 10% value added tax (VAT).
3. Instructions for using the service
- For crew members on board, just pick up the combination and call the Station's working frequency to ask service. (See the Instructions for making calls to the shore ship telephone service).
- For customers on land, they only need to contact directly or by phone with any Station under Vietnam Coast Radio Station System, provide the following information:
- Full name of crew member to be contacted
- Name of ship
- Message content.
Such information will be broadcast by the Coast Radio Station System to ships on radio waves. When the ship is on the wave, the Coast Radio Station will make the communication connection between the shore and the ship.
4. Service registration:
- Equipped with MF/HF and/or VHF on board;
- Sign a contract with any Coast Radio Station.
