 Maritime Mobile Service Identity (MMSI) information setting service is a service that provides and set Mobile Service Identity information for vehicles operating on sea/rivers.

  • Maritime Mobile Service Identity (MMSI) is a 9-digit natural number sequence prescribed by ITU: MIDxxxxxx, in which MID is the maritime identification number assigned to each country. Vietnam's MID is 574.
  • All vehicles operating on the sea/rivers must be equipped with appropriate radio equipment and the MMSI code must be installed on that radio equipment.
  • Each ship is assigned only one unique MMSI code.

Service registration documents include:

  • Service registration form for Maritime Mobile Service Identity setting (according to VISHIPEL's form);
  • Copy of Business Registration Certificate of the Agency requesting code setting (in case of a corporate customer) or Copy of ID card/citizen identification card/household registration (in case of an individual customer) or documents of the governing agency (for administrative, public service, national security and defense agencies);
  • Copy of vehicle registration certificate.

For cases where service registration documents need to be supplemented:
