From June 16 to 18, 2026, a delegation from Vietnam Maritime Communication and Electronics Company (VISHIPEL) attended the SkyWave APAC Partner Forum 2026, themed "The Winning IoT Formula," held in Phuket, Thailand.
This is ORBCOMM's major annual event, bringing together more than 70 delegates from 28 companies across 17 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region to share development strategies, update on new technologies, and strengthen cooperation in satellite-based Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Representing VISHIPEL at the event were Mr. Pham Anh Son – Deputy General Director of the Company, and Mr. Nguyen Huu Hieu – Head of the Business Policy Department.
During the forum, delegates were briefed on ORBCOMM's new strategic development direction following its rebranding into two business units, SKYWAVE and VIACHAIN, and were introduced to the next-generation industrial IoT ecosystem along with the OGx satellite network — a connectivity platform recognized as a major step forward in improving data transmission efficiency, optimizing power consumption, and expanding the applicability of IoT solutions across sectors such as maritime, logistics, energy, agriculture, and asset management.
In addition to the thematic discussion sessions, the VISHIPEL delegation actively engaged with SKYWAVE leadership, technical experts, and regional partners on topics including technology development directions, satellite service quality, asset monitoring and container tracking solutions, and models for deploying IoT services over the OGx network. The delegation also shared its experience in developing the Vietnamese market and proposed that ORBCOMM increase technical support, provide in-depth documentation, and share service quality information to support product research and development as well as service deployment in Vietnam.
One of the highlights of the event was the APAC Partner Awards ceremony, honoring partners who have made significant contributions to market development and the expansion of ORBCOMM's ecosystem. At the ceremony, VISHIPEL was proud to receive the APAC Regional Partner Award from ORBCOMM, recognizing the Company's efforts in developing satellite and IoT services and affirming its role as ORBCOMM's strategic partner in the Vietnamese market.
Attending the SkyWave APAC Partner Forum 2026 not only enabled VISHIPEL to stay up to date with the latest technology trends in satellite IoT, but also created opportunities to expand cooperative relationships with regional partners, access advanced solutions, and explore new service development opportunities. This also serves as an important foundation for VISHIPEL to continue researching and applying ORBCOMM's new technologies to its business operations, contributing to digital transformation in the maritime and fisheries sectors and to the development of satellite telecommunications services in Vietnam.
